Today's attainments

The things that got done today are all too minor to be "achievements," so I'm calling them "attainments" instead.

• I finally organized more than three months of allergy shot billing so I could write them a check. I should have done it long before now, but the stack of papers was pretty daunting, and the office had never given us any paperwork for the original check, so...
  
• I rescued three fuchsias. A few days ago, we were looking for a leftover hanging pot for J's alpine strawberry, and he discovered that last summer's hanging fuchsias had actually survived the winter, 18" of snow and all! This has never happened before. Perhaps I was too quick to believe R. telling me that it couldn't happen; perhaps it's happened every year except the poor plants weren't watered and died. So today I pulled them out from under the weeds and trimmed them up and watered them. Go fuchsias go!
  
• J. finished reading the three chapters I've written for the book - that's his "attainment," not mine, but I'm still pleased about it.

They're off at a prerelease event downtown, and I finished watching Carmen and last week's episode of Younger. Maybe I'll start alphabetizing the paperbacks in J's library? He has a houseguest coming tomorrow.
