A "visceral reaction"
Mar. 6th, 2019 11:59 pmThis afternoon it started snowing again, hard. I rushed out to do my errands before the snow could stick and cause problems, and I found myself in the Market of Choice buying beer-cheese soup and some ciabatta rolls to toast to go with the soup. The woman ahead of me in line was telling the clerk that she'd had a "visceral reaction" to the new snow, and I found myself nodding in agreement with her. Then it transpired that she was also buying beer-cheese soup. I suggested that she serve it with toasted sourdough bread and, indeed, she also had ciabatta rolls. Ha! J. says I have a twin.
Thankfully, it stopped snowing after an hour and a half, and none of it had stuck at my elevation (although I ran into someone I knew while at the store who said it was sticking at his house, higher in the hills). We enjoyed the toast and soup, and then I went to the "seminar" for next week's Delgani concert, at which we'll hear music by three Czech composers, including one who emigrated in 1964 and had been a music professor in our state for 30 years.
D. has stopped his allergy medicine in anticipation of next week's testing, and he is not having fun with that at all.
