Amelioration! aka Bettering!

D. came home from class looking like a complete zombie. His allergies are at their worst this time of year, when rain and sunny days alternate, putting lots of mold into the air. I've been working on the blackberry vines behind the house for months, and I suspect they're one of our worst mold sources, what with the leaves trapped beneath the vines, right next to the heat pump, which is our main air intake for the house. Finally the vines are done growing for the year, so I cut down the rest of the vines I could reach to add to the massive pile, and I called the guy I've got listed on my phone as "Hauling Stuff Dave." He came by with two helpers to assess the situation, and they'll come back tomorrow or Monday to haul away the big pile. I should be able to tidy up the space after that. Maybe we can put down some tarp or plastic or such... ideally I'd like to limit the ability of the vines to regrow in the spring, but I can't afford to pave the whole area until I have an income again.
