A flurry!

Today was a complete flurry of activity! I worked on the proposal, then went to a fairly long meeting at work, then worked on the proposal, renewed some library books at the university, and attended a two-hour presentation on Noh theater, by some prominent Noh actors from Japan.

Meanwhile, J. was hoping to play Magic with me and D, so they got started building their decks while I was gone. Then D. visited his girlfriend and I walked to the store with J, then built my deck. D. returned while I did J's laundry from his trip, and I got D. signed up for student health insurance and tried to pay for his tuition online, only to discover that using a credit card would cost me fifty-three dollars! I will write them a check in person, good grief. Then I lost to D. in two games, then I worked on the proposal (naturally) while D. lost to J. in two games. I managed to forget to make D's dinner, but he was capable of getting his own ramen instead. I worked more on the proposal, then played two very long Magic games vs. J. and eked out a win in the second, then finished his laundry, and of course worked more on the proposal. Ha ha ha.

(I was concerned that the Noh performances would be rather dull, and if a person just watched them without any of the introduction or commentary, they really would be. But the actors were charming and made it interesting instead. I wished I'd gone to the other talk yesterday, but we had G's lab. I'm going to read more about it, and perhaps they'll come back from Japan next year or so for a full performance, as this one was so well received that now they'd like to.)
