Today I asked D. to have a "Plan B" in place in case he decides he's not interested in advertising or other journalism school careers after fall term. Turns out he already has something in mind - he'd like to teach English in Korea. Not just as one of the many young people who go over there to do that, but rather, he'd want to learn Korean first and take education classes and go there to teach English to younger kids.
It's rather more practical than the plan I had my first term at the university - majoring in geology to move to Australia - but if he does decide he's interested in this path, I hope he can visit Korea first. Maybe he could travel there with one of his friends who goes there every summer.
Meanwhile, J. is pretty sore muscle-wise from the first longsword class. Too bad our hot tub is still out of commission.
