Falling apart, heh
Aug. 2nd, 2018 10:40 pmToday not only was I more sick than yesterday, making it hard to focus, but I also developed a sharp pain below my knee when I walk, which the Internet tells me is a knee tendon bursitis. So now I limp too.
I did make it to the opening socializing/meal of JB's "Managing Culture Collapse" workshop, or whatever he's calling it. There were 15-20 of us, sitting outside Friendly Market and getting acquainted. Two of the guys had come from Denmark! Mostly I chatted with a guy from Singapore (by way of San Jose) who wants to create an elementary school that teaches kids about complexity science. I didn't try eating anything, but I felt reasonably okay just sitting there and chatting.
Meanwhile, speaking of feeling okay versus falling apart, one of the feral kitties - the scared and hostile tuxedo cat I've named Timothy - appears to be paralyzed in his hind legs, and not doing too well with the front legs either. Poor, poor kitty. I don't know if this is a new injury or if the bite marks on his tail have gotten infected. He can sort of crawl. He's hanging around my yard. I've put bowls of food and water near him, but that terrifies him into moving further away, and any movement at all seems pretty traumatic.
