In which D. is "courted"
Mar. 15th, 2018 11:58 pmToday D. received a small package from the university. Within was a "virtual reality tour" of the campus - a combination of a cardboard structure rather like a view-master (vue-master?), into which he placed his phone after downloading a certain app, and then he could look here and there, with various surprises built in. The most amazing (before his phone battery died, as he had very little charge to begin with) was when you find yourself in the role of our mascot, Puddles the Duck, riding a motorcycle into the football stadium to the roar of the crowd.
D's girlfriend didn't get the same package. I'm wondering if hers was delayed in the mail, or if she's already accepted admission and they're afraid he'll get away so they're still sending him stuff. It was a cool gift, but his financial aid award letter was also in today's mail, inviting us to apply for $12K in loans for the rest of his tuition and living expenses beyond his scholarship. Poor timing on their part, if he were actually undecided, ha.
Here it is - cute.
