Darkest Hour

I'm not a big movie fan in general, so it isn't all that often that there are several movies out at once that I'm interested in seeing. I did want to see Darkest Hour, though, and discovered that today would be the final day it would be shown locally, although noon was too early and the second and third showings conflicted with D's clarinet lesson (even though he decided en route that he was sick and we ended up cancelling), and the final showing at 8:15 pm seemed too late since I was drowsy all day long. But! I took a nap from 6:45 to 7:45 pm and woke up feeling refreshed and rather less sick than I had for days, and off I went. There were eight of us in the theater. It was a fine movie. Oddly, I was especially happy with the obviously fictionalized ride on the underground, so it must have been a good creative choice. The acting and makeup were especially impressive. And I loved the final line: "He has mobilized the English language and sent it into battle."
