The Secret World of Aphasia
Nov. 15th, 2017 11:52 pmThis evening, although still sick with migraine, I went to the screening of a brief training film on how to work with patients who have lost the ability to communicate. This 1968 film was recently admitted to the National Film Registry, which is a big deal! The filmmakers, Edward and Naomi Feil, are the parents of one of my coworkers. It seemed pretty clear that they'd studied cheesy 1950s horror films, but the film did succeed in its goal of creating empathy.
