Bird rivalry
Apr. 10th, 2017 11:48 pmJ's coming back tomorrow, yay.
Today I was working on the blackberry vines behind the house - a perennial problem. The thicket of last year's cut vines beneath my bedroom window might be this year's nesting site for the rufous-sided towhee I surprised when I went back there. The bird fled over the fence to the oak and hawthorn trees, where the scrub jays usually nest, and a few moments later a jay was chasing the towhee right past me into the back yard. I hope things worked out after I left.
