I've become "addicted" to the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel's various series of romantic mysteries - the one about the baker, the one about the flower-shop owner, the one about the gourmet teamed up with a police detective, et cetera. Light fluff, lovely Canadian settings. Tonight I saw the second movie in the "Fixer-Upper" series, in which a home renovator played by Jewel uses her construction expertise to solve mysteries in the company of a handsome investigative reporter-turned-novelist played by Eureka's Colin Ferguson.

Anyway. Tonight's movie was... good! That is, following the logic of such movies, I identified the likely culprit in one of the opening scenes, but then they convinced me it wasn't him! We had an official red herring, and then an intended red herring, and then finally the actual murderer was revealed. Someone did a better than average job writing this script.

The cats are piled double-decker beside me in their sleep. Such excellent arm-rests.
