One of the best things about driving all the way across town in the rain, then back later in the dark in the rain, is that afterwards you get to enjoy being all cozy inside, in the rain, having done the good thing and now getting to relax. I'm reading the seventh Hillerman book, Skinwalkers.
(I should confess that "all the way across town" is in this instance only 6.4 miles, for the youth orchestras board meeting, but it takes more than 20 minutes to get there in the after-work traffic.)
