"Arms and the Man"
Jan. 26th, 2017 10:39 pmThis afternoon I had an alarming dizzy spell but concluded that it's probably just a bout of labyrinthitis, and I went about my planned activities, just more slowly. I sent J. off to San Jose for a Magic tournament, took D. to his clarinet lesson and finally heard what his teacher thinks about politics (quite a lot), and after dinner I made it to the high school production of George Bernard Shaw's "Arms and the Man." Our neighbor, who mowed our lawns in the summer, played the romantic lead, the "chocolate-cream soldier," and was altogether dashing. The actress who played the mother was wonderfully expressive (exasperation, mostly). Now I'm reading the witty script to see what I missed. Yay!
