Singing with my mom

Today we visited my mom at the memory care facility, and we discovered that she does pretty well at singing carols. She was first singing "Merry Christmas to Me" with the birthday song tune, but I got her singing with me for "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," and "Silent Night." She seemed happiest with "Jingle Bells" but surprised me by knowing all of "Rudolph" (except that we didn't try the prologue).

For Christmas dinner, I turned a flank steak into an easy-to-carve pot roast, and after dinner my sister and brother-in-law came to visit for a couple of hours.
