Youth Symphony and more
Dec. 7th, 2016 11:27 pmTonight was the Youth Symphony concert, with dazzling performances by the two soloists. My sister was very impressed and happy. She was practically the first out of her seat for the violin soloist. And whew! D. played his measures in the Shostakovich piece very well, I thought, if not quite as well as the first clarinet (to my discerning ear, having heard it and the fuss over it so many times). All notes were correct! He was just a tad slower.
In great news today, a journal has finally accepted an economic analysis that we first started trying to find a home for last year. So many revisions. Such a relief.
I got a bunch of shopping done this afternoon (online), so I'm not feeling quite so far behind.
It's really cold right now -- 25 degrees F. I am looking forward to the week of "warmer + rain" weather that's arriving tomorrow.
