The Twentieth Wife
Oct. 9th, 2016 11:58 pmToday I mostly took the day off from work (it's Sunday, after all), and it was warm enough to read outside, so I finished The Twentieth Wife by Indu Sundaresan. It's a fictional biography of Nur Jahan, up to the point where she married Jahangir, and it was quite nice. I especially appreciated that she was able to make people's actions seem reasonable from their perspective, when objectively they seemed rather irrational. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
(I found this at the bookstore when looking to see if Bill Sullivan had published any more novels, and since I'd read a biography of Nur Jahan some while ago, it was right up my alley.)
