No Hawaii for J.

Alas, J. didn't win the trip to Hawaii today; his deck wasn't good enough against the most popular competitive deck these days (the kind D. has). He did have a lot of fun yesterday playing Conspiracy 2 with some of the people at Wizards who had created it.

Meanwhile, D. has learned that eating a large bento box lunch at 3 p.m. means not being hungry for dinner at 7 p.m., and I have gotten it into my head to track down my step-mother (my dad's widow) by introducing myself to her son via postal mail. She moved away from the coast a couple of years back, and my holiday card was returned, but surely he'll know where she is. I quite like her.
