Tuesday

Today's highlights included J. spotting a heron on the same log where we'd been watching sleeping ducks, somehow without noticing it for several long minutes; eating hummus for dinner at a downtown restaurant we like with sidewalk seating; and opening two mythic rares in the free pack of Magic cards I got at the game store for spending more than $5 on a Tuesday. One of them was the fancy angel Gisela. The money I spent was for two "blackberry"-colored sleeves.

J. then stayed to practice his "standard" deck for Sunday's qualifier for the pro tour in Honolulu, while I came home and alternated reading bits of a light novel with finishing up a manuscript for work.
