I heard back from my step-mother's family today - she has Alzheimer's as well, and is now in a memory care center too. Her granddaughter thinks of her condition as "advanced" but she can still follow the plots of TV shows and enjoys doing simple jigsaw puzzles.
It's been a stressful couple of days. I went out for a meeting with my friend H, the youth orchestras' director, at the Jewish deli down the street, and that was relaxing; also J. and I watched five One Piece episodes and I finished reading the first of the Hannah Swensen mysteries that have been televised as Murder She Baked movies.
