Yesterday I cautiously concluded that I was finally feeling better, after more than two weeks of a mild stomach bug plus coughing. But D. was sneezing a bunch yesterday, and today I woke up with a cold. (D. seems fine now.) It's not a particularly burdensome cold, but I am sneezing and congested.
I did go on a walk with J. to look at the river and then over to the millrace (a manmade creek), which was absolutely full of fish. Usually there are schools of little ones, maybe 3-4" long, but today the usual schools of the usual-sized fish were accompanied by bigger dudes, maybe 8" long and kind of fat, and very thin, small fish, about 1" long or so, which J. thought might be tadpoles. So that was unexpectedly interesting.
I picked D. up from the YMCA camp where he works, and then watched J. get his hair cut, and then the three of us had a big of a picnic in J's back yard - chicken strips for them, cold lemon-pesto chicken breast for me. They each went off to do recreational things, and I shopped for cat supplies and read a little and then did some more work. I hope it will stay sunny and warm and 80ish like this for weeks!
