Book club was fun, of course, and I enjoyed Persepolis and most of the conversation, and Lisa had created an amazing spread of food for us. But. I would rather have had fewer graphic descriptions of people's personal experiences with parasites... I guess that's a cost to having friends who are world-travelled ecologists (or married to such), but even so.
(We are so fortunate here in Eugene in that regard. One of my friends has a friend in Arizona who has to sleep in a tent because their house is infested with something that's migrated north from Mexico. Speaking of parasites, though, I've got a few flea bites, which is annoying and unexpected since my cats are indoors-only.)
