Busy! A full spring day
Mar. 31st, 2016 10:44 pmWhat a full day!
First, I read
daysprings's new essay in the New York Times!
Then I went to visit a new friend for lunch on her birthday. It was sunny and warm, and she made us salads, and we puttered around the garden and I made friends with several of her pets, and we talked about our kids, who are good friends now. She listens to Hawaiian music on Pandora all day.
Then I went to the office to print a thing, and J. and I went on a walk to the river. I came home about when D. did, and then J. arrived and the three of us made bobolis and watched the season finale of Agent Carter, one of the most awesome shows.
Then I went off by myself to see a movie, Only Yesterday, a Studio Ghibli film from some time ago that has finally been released in English. It was a fine movie, and of course breathtakingly beautiful for the scenes in the countryside, but I was also glad that I didn't bring J. along, as he would have been bored. (I saw the subtitled version; the theater was showing the new dubbed version during the matinees.)
Time to get some work done; I need to fix the numbered references in a manuscript that's otherwise ready to submit.
