I’m one of those people who tends to adapt when things break, rather than doing something about them, and I’m also not big on shopping (except for books). So when I walk and it’s raining, I have these old worn out shoes I wear. But they aren’t leather, and there’s a thin part on the sole, and it takes them days to dry out. So when I put them on, my feet are immediately cold and clammy, and I can’t take more than a few steps outside before they’re wet, too.

But today I bought myself some new leather “walking shoes.” They’re so strange! My feet feel unnaturally warm in them. It’s most disconcerting. Nice that I don’t have to change socks after a walk, though.
