Thanksgiving, how it was
Nov. 26th, 2015 09:45 pmSo last night at bedtime my temperature was 100.9̊F, but at least I slept a whole bunch. Then today when it was time to roast the turkey breast, we discovered the supermarket had put at least one package of cut-up chicken parts in the turkey breast spot (oops). So we rushed out to the stores and ended up with a whole chicken, which was fine. I went very low-effort and just roasted potatoes and carrots with the chicken, and D. made us biscuits. The main challenge for today (in my present condition) was to get an apple pie assembled and baked, but now it’s in the oven.
I have a very anti-social cough. It’s worrying the cats too.
For our Thanksgiving movie, we watched Captain America: Winter Soldier. I had three observations.
(3) Falcon was cool. I didn’t already know about him.
(2) The Winter Soldier was way hotter than Bucky was.
(1) Although I’ve never found Captain America particularly interesting, every single thing he did was more interesting than anything Thor’s ever done. It could be the lovely actor but I don’t think that fully accounts for it.
