As of mid-day, my proposal is off to NIH for yet another attempt to get the funding. I've been trying with this one for four years now. O powers that be, please fund me this time! We'll find out in four or five months or so.
D. woke up sick or, rather, sick-ish: very, very tired, heavy limbs, shivering. His body temperature normalized after a while, and he didn't need to nap, but he stayed home from fencing class.
Meanwhile, I went off to chat business with my friend H, the exec director of the youth orchestras. The big topic was the upcoming office move, to we don't yet know where, but presumably some school with extra space. The former school with extra space where they've been for the past 16 years is about to become a school again. H. and I ended up chatting outside a local cafe for two and a half hours! I'm grateful I can sometimes do things like that with my time.
We had pizza delivered for dinner, and J. and I watched the second Thor movie. It's too bad that Thor is such a boring character, but there was Loki, and there was Heimdall, and there were special effects and pretty CGI Asgard.
Tomorrow I get to turn my attention back to all the things that have gone by the wayside with the website launch (still problematic) and the grant proposal. Yay! I have been looking forward to this all summer.
