Too much excitement!

The Eugene YMCA is right across the street from the high school, and they have a daycare there. One of the parents is on the SWAT team, and today he dropped off his kid for childcare while in full uniform, because he was on his way to a training exercise. A delivery guy saw him walking down the street in camo, carrying weapons, and the dad didn’t respond when the delivery guy spoke to him, so the delivery guy called the police to report the armed suspicious person, and the school went into lockdown.

Pretty scary to get a robo-call from the school, telling you they’re in lockdown!

It’s the last day of school, and D. didn’t have a first period final (band class), so he would have been arriving in the middle of this, and watching the rest of Harold and Maude with his English class.

Anyhow… it’s good that they’re keeping the kids safe, and that the incident was fully explained, but, bleh!
