This afternoon we bought 20 strawberry plants for J's garden. The neighborhood nursery had at least seven or eight varieties with thorough descriptions, so we chose three or four of them.
Then we went to the woods to look for the calypso orchids. We nearly missed out on them -- only a few were still in bloom. Quite a few wild iris, though, and several other pretties. We also saw two towhees, a small garter snake and a larger one (which J. saw but I did not), lots of lady bugs on some scotch broom, and two little periwinkle-and-white butterflies and one blackish one.
I'd be getting more work done this evening if I didn't develop a migraine after dinner, but that's how it goes. Still, I'm making some progress.
