Spring break: Friday (kind of crazy!)
Mar. 27th, 2015 09:57 pmOr crazy-making, possibly. Intense, at the least.
- I started by plunging back into that cost analysis. I spent several very focused hours doing the legwork to establish that the two groups didn't differ by condition in how much prescription medication they started or stopped using between baseline (before the study) and three years later.
- Then the music shop called to say the alto sax we're borrowing was ready -- they'd shifted things around to do it a day ahead of plans for us, since I explained yesterday that D. was supposed to learn it over spring break. I rushed down there to pick it up, only to find that the instrument has no mouthpiece... so I e-mailed the band teacher. Maybe there's a spare one lying around to match up to the sax. D. remains focused on the trumpet this week, though. He is definitely improving!
- Then I rushed around getting ready for my meeting with Z. We spent more than two hours reviewing the ten hours of testing she carried out with helpful local women, and I have a full page of scribbles about ways to improve the website. I was exhausted after that.
- Then, of course, I resumed work on the cost analysis, with a break for dinner and five minutes of listening to the PBS Carmen I recorded last week. Still more to do on the cost analysis tonight, since tomorrow I want to turn attention to the stuff G. needs me to finish this weekend. (And to think I was considering this to be my own spring _break_ too.)
- J. came home from after-work Magic, and I went and told him my whole story. Then I went on a walk in the rain (refreshing!), then bought groceries, including a self-indulgent purchase of a Honeycrisp apple for $1.60. But it was good!
