New arrival
Jan. 7th, 2015 11:36 pmMy new Lenovo laptop is here – the UPS guy finally arrived, at 6:12 p.m., after I waited for him in the livingroom all day. So far so good, though Windows 8 is going to take some getting accustomed to. I’ll try to keep an open mind. The screen is smaller than on this one, but that’s probably okay. It doesn’t have a 10-key pad on the right, and that’s probably okay too, because on the new machine, the numbers on the main keyboard actually work. Can’t take these things for granted any more!
I shudder to think how many computers I now own. There are four in this room alone – D’s desktop, my current Toshiba on my lap, the new Lenovo next to me, and the old Lenovo hooked up to the TV. There’s also a MacBook a few feet behind me, but it’s not mine. Elsewhere in the house... maybe a dozen? Only one is hooked up to power and a monitor, though, my work desktop.
