Exasperation
Sep. 25th, 2014 10:55 pmIt occurs to me that I’ve been through a lot in the past few days – a sometimes-debilitating cold, the visit and now departure of J’s parents, the temporary loss of all of my writing files (not yet restored), and the rush to get the analysis part of my proposal written before JA leaves on yet another month-long vacation tomorrow. So when D. didn’t show up at his usual time after school, and didn’t answer the phone, it was pretty vexing. Fortunately, when I was out looking for him near the bus stop, my friend T. drove by and told me she’d seen him in the store about 20 minutes previously. Turns out he’d left his phone at home and wanted to go hang out at the store with a couple of friends. I wouldn’t let him play Hearthstone this evening as punishment – probably the first actual punishment he’s had in a great many years. Next time I hope he’ll remember to stop by the house for his phone first. Communication! Vital!
