Molcajet

After the Ducks’ victory over #7 Michigan State, 46-27, we went out for Mexican food, and I ordered the molcajete, which is a nice stew. But on the receipt, with space limitations, it was listed as “molcajet.” That’s a very different word. Moolti-pass. Molca-jet.

The sky is really messed up right now – we can barely see any stars. In addition to the regular, nearly imperceptible wildfire smoke from the mountains, today we had (1) a 100-acre wildfire up in Corvallis, 40 miles to the north, that made them have to evacuate houses, (2) a wildfire down in Creswell, 9 miles to the south, and then (3) a wildfire by the airport, maybe 10 miles to the north-east. And we’re at the head of the valley, so everything is just trapped here indefinitely. No rain in the 10-day forecast.

I did get some stuff done today, though – I planned some manuscript revisions, I critiqued the current version of the game they’re making for my project website, and I did some dusting. It’s a glamorous life.
