Magic tournament, plus vicarious travels
Aug. 9th, 2014 11:51 pmOur team for the Magic tournament went 4-3 and didn't bother finishing the event (two more rounds), because 3 losses is one too many to make it to Day 2. D. went 4-3 individually, and I think he's having a great time.
Meanwhile, I got a fair amount of work done, and I also had fun with the TV. I watched the fourth episode of Michael Palin's series about Brazil, and I watched a formulaic Hallmark channel movie set in Puerto Rico and called Stranded in Paradise, and I watched the first episode of Outlander, set in the Scottish Highlands. I don't know if I'll invest the time in watching more of the series, but it's pretty.
I liked getting to hear some Gaelic in Outlander. I barely retain any from the month or two I spent dabbling in it a few years back, and I certainly didn't understand anything they said.
