Smoky skies: The bane of August

From the newspaper, I learned that the reason the sky is so hazy isn’t from the wildfires in our mountains. Rather, it’s from much bigger fires in California – which is more than 200 miles away. It reminded me of my Korean friend’s complaint that they constantly have to put up with air pollution from China. Today I woke up coughing, and my throat’s still unhappy. I did spend more than an hour outside today, though. Tomorrow maybe I’ll just stay inside. At least today the sun is less orange, and the moon less yellow, than yesterday.
