Today was a good day.

• I learned that wildfire season started even earlier than usual – no break at all after the pollen ended – which may not seem like a good thing, since it means I’ll feel bleh for weeks until it rains, but that’s much better than wondering what on earth is wrong with me.
  
• My friend C. and her family can come to dinner when J’s friend is in town!
  
• We had a productive meeting at work, with JG visiting us in person from Arizona, then we heard H’s stories about his recent visit to South Africa, where he saw many lions and a leopard.
  
• J. and I had dinner at McMenamin’s, which is really tasty! And the restaurant was nearly empty, too.
  
• Friends came over to help them practice for their August Magic event, and while they played I sat there comfortably and finished a big section of the paper I’m writing for work.
  
• The night sky is really pretty. Mars and Spica are about the same brightness, right beside each other, and I got J&D to come outside and look with me.
