Valiance!

This afternoon, D. and I made an absolutely valiant effort, and we filled the two big vegetable boxes with soil. The soil is in the driveway, and the vegetable boxes are on the far side of the house, and it’s not like there’s a paved path in between. But, with a great many trips, and a whole lot of shoveling and lifting, we did it. Now I can plant nice things! I can buy six tomato plants, and I have seeds for chard and lettuce, and it would be nice to have strawberries too.

Earlier in the day, I bought a few perennials, and I took back some library books without getting any more, which is something of a feat. I still want to read the books where Pliny the Younger is a detective, but right now I’m in the middle of both Palace Walk (Mahfouz) and Assassin’s Quest (Hobb), so I’ll wait.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to write a new draft of the e-cigarette proposal this weekend. I did identify a long list of points of contention and e-mailed it to everyone involved – once all that is worked out, it should be straightforward. I hope.

P.S. You know what is tasty? A raspberry colada. I had two tiny, delicious sips of J’s at the Mexican restaurant at dinner. Yum.
