Multiple pluses and a minor botheration
Apr. 5th, 2014 10:53 pmOverall, the evening’s been fun. J. and I went out to Thai food for dinner, and I had sur rong hai, which was really tasty bits of steak and some vegetables. We then watched the ending of Iron Man 2 and the first Captain America movie. This time I could pay more attention to noticing the supporting actors, like Richard Armitage (!) as a Hydra infiltrator, JJ Feild as a member of the Captain’s crew, and the fellow who played Willoughby in my favorite version of Sense & Sensibility as Howard Stark.
However – I’d been thinking of the woman who’d lived behind me for ~20 years as my least favorite neighbor, and I forgot that kid across the street, the thuggish one who’s behaved badly to D. over the years and who sometimes throws stuff at my house. Eggs and a firecracker in the past, apparently dirt clods tonight. It was pretty startling during the movie. J. thinks it was intended to harass D, who isn’t even here. (And who, by the way, according to his language arts teacher, is a “remarkable student and an exemplary role model for others,” thank you, Mrs. Q!) So many nice neighbors whom I almost never mention here, alas.
