Nearly there (flowerbed)

Every year, I really want to get the flowerbed nearest the street weeded and planted with shirley poppy seeds before it gets much further than this into the spring. The nuisance is the redbud tree, whose shallow roots make it awfully hard to get the grass and dandelions out from among them. If not for the redbud, I’d have finished weeding it several weeks ago (before the last extended rainstorm). Today, though, I got enough further that I think one more day will do it!
