Thursday tidbits

• Nichelle Nichols was really good in her first appearance on Password Plus (I assume in the ’80s, based on hairstyles). Fun to watch her! (Yes, the Game Show Network regularly enhances my breakfast experience.)
  
• I tried calling my tree-guy again about my poor scarlet oak. This time I got to leave a voicemail, but apparently it may take a couple of weeks for them to get back to me.
  
• If my local booksellers really wanted my business, they’d do better at getting new releases onto the shelves. Since The Way of Kings was #7 on the NYT bestseller list during its first week, we’d expect the sequel to do well too, no? (Actually, I got bogged down in it, but J. wants it. I wanted the sequel to Marie Brennan’s The Natural History of Dragons. Now we’re getting both on Saturday from Amazon.)
