Blah, snowstorm
Feb. 6th, 2014 10:08 pmThe forecast called for snow starting at sunrise today and continuing all day, yet the silly school district decided to take the gamble. By the time D’s school got out at 3:25 p.m., quite a few kids had already left, and the rest had been mightily distracted by all the huge snowflakes drifting down outside their big windows all day. I ended up driving D. in both directions, even though I almost never drive in snow – he had jazz band at 7:45 a.m., and then he didn’t have boots or gloves to help him with the walk home from school, and he also has a sore throat. Later, I walked as far as the school plus a block or two, to meet J. as he trekked over here from his apartment. We stocked up at Safeway and then made mini-pizzas this evening. There’s not much chance of a thaw tomorrow (and it was already a no-school day), but it should be in the 40s on Saturday. Meanwhile, D’s throat is still sore, and J’s isn’t great, and am I next?
