It was great to be mobile again today – I did my volunteer shift at the school library, and also visited G. in the psych department and spent some time in my own office. I forgot about the UO library books I need to renew, though.
D’s been asked to do some tutoring for the 5th grade brother of one of his classmates. He’s flattered to be asked but doesn’t really “get” why he’d be better at it than any other random 8th grader, and he also feels shy and awkward at the idea of spending time with a younger person. I’m feeling frustrated about it, because I think he’d do well at it, and I want him to take more responsibility and do more useful things for others, but I also want to support his decision-making and let him set boundaries and say “no” to things.
