My performer
May. 8th, 2013 09:55 pmD’s school’s ArtStravaganza has come to a successful conclusion. We ate pasta at the school for dinner, prepared by a parent who’s a professional chef, or rather, I ate pasta and salad and D&J ate pizza. Then J. and I toured the silent auction and I bid on half a dozen things, while D. got ready for the jazz band’s courtyard performance. We listened a bit to him then went came back here briefly, then J. went home to put together his deck for the Magic Grand Prix this weekend. I returned to the school and settled in the performance room – this year I’d bought a table, excellent idea, with my friend C, and we sat there in great comfort while nearly everybody else suffered in the bleachers. D. then came in and performed more with the jazz band (clarinet solo in “Oye Como Va!”), then with the guitar ensemble, then the regular band class. We also saw C’s son in the preview of Seussical.
Afterwards, D. got his first taste of cola (and loved it... what have I done?), while I paid for the wooden book for which I’d placed the winning bid. Now he’s helping J. test his new deck. Bedtime momentarily.
