Today J. helped me take my lawnmower back to the hardware store where I bought it, as they suggested doing so when I asked them for advice about its failure to start. It’s a cordless electric and the lights come on to say the battery’s charged, but nothing else happens. My lawn is now embarrassingly long. I don’t want to spend another $380 for a new mower after just 20 months.
Anyway, as soon as we got it loaded into J’s trunk, it started to rain, and as soon as I got in the car with him, it started to pour. Then hail. Then a complete, blinding deluge. Mind you, as soon as we got it unloaded at the hardware store the rain let up. It was too wet for them to do any testing then, though. I hope J’s trunk will dry out soon.
