My big achievement for the day?

For fantasy fiction, “boy climbing around on tall buildings” is a more popular trope than I had realized. For more realistic fiction, “kid imprisoned unjustly” is surprisingly common too.
D. and I watched three episodes of Women Ninja Warrior, a Japanese competition featuring athletes, celebrities, and regular people, like a fingernail artist and a gas station attendant (she did quite well). We even got to see “The World’s Toughest Housewife,” who did not advance past the first round.
I’ve also had fun looking for new things in my dissertation data. I’m not going to go overboard (my committee isn’t supposed to ask me about things that weren’t in my proposal), but as long as I’m curious, it can’t hurt to have more to be able to talk about.
Still sick. Rest, lots of liquids, nutrition, that’s the plan.
