Lunch was good.
Feb. 9th, 2012 10:48 pmI dragged myself into the office at noon for the monthly meeting of the Science Support Council – everyone at work who isn’t a scientist. I don’t get to attend the Scientist Council again until I’m funded again, most likely, and they have better food. However! Things have improved at SSC since I was last there. The sandwiches were tasty, with some kind of pesto spread. And we were celebrating Presidents! The facilities manager did his report in the guise of William Howard Taft, and someone I didn’t recognize showed up later as Teddy Roosevelt. We also got to do a presidential trivia quiz, to be scored by tomorrow. Then, this month’s educational presentation was a riot – one project presented a very funny video of their work, mockumentary style, and we even got to see a “daydream” by the project director, where she envisioned herself running through a field of daisies, in a long flowing dress, with her happy dog, whom she then tossed in the air and danced about with. And then the meeting was over, after only 45 minutes, and we’ll get paid for two hours for going. So yes, lunch was good.
