Summertime homeowner blues
Aug. 7th, 2011 11:18 pmEarlier this week, the lawnmower failed. It’s possible to buy a replacement battery, but the screws holding the battery cover in place are pretty much stuck. Not sure what to do about that, whether to continue my efforts to force it open, or to give up and spend the money on another mower, which I don't have a good way to transport from the store to the house.
Then this evening, our heat pump, and thus our air conditioning, also failed. Or earlier, possibly even yesterday. At least it’s only 80̊ in here, and the forecast for the week does not exceed 84̊, or the situation could be a lot worse. I have most of the windows open, but D’s got the only fan in his room with him, and there’s no breeze to help me out here. I can’t call anyone tomorrow to come and fix it, either, because I’ll first need to clear a path through at least 10 or 15' of blackberries. What a pain.
