April foolishness

Negatives:

D’s beautiful, wonderful carefully crafted Tree Village in Minecraft burned to the ground, to our considerable dismay. We blame his lava tower, which had been stable for days up to this point.

My phone survey RA, who is already known to be highly particular about where one positions the staples on the work packets she’s given, today sent me an e-mail complaining that my use of blue staples has left her “swimming in blue glitter.” Urgh. Can't she put up with my blue staples for two more weeks? Which of us is the boss, anyway?

Someone started illegally using one of our work accounts, which means it has to be closed, which means I have to go through about 400 checks I’ve written in the past year to figure out which haven’t been cashed yet (at least 100 of them), and type up a detailed list, by Monday.

Positives:

Watching the “wimpy kid” movie for a third day in a row helped lift D’s spirits, and four rounds of Spongebob Madlibs at bedtime had him laughing out loud.

The scurrying mouse noise inside my computer turned out to be the little fan on the underside of the graphics card, and now that it’s sitting there with the case open, the noise has stopped, leading me to hope that cleaning out the dust will cure the problem entirely.

Finally a day without rain. We had measurable rain every day in March. Despite still being unwell, I mowed part of the lawn and did some weeding, before the next storm arrives.

Oh right, and I do feel better today.
