My birthday

I received lovely gifts: a stuffed kangaroo and joey from D, a book of feminist archaeology from B, five DVDs from R, and a game and some books from J. The DVDs were Monsoon Wedding, early Harryhausen, and the first seasons of Hercules, Xena, and Gavin & Stacey. And many, many birthday greetings from friends! Thank you!

Later in the day I went to the woods to look for mushrooms, and then we ordered dinner from Café Soriah, which we ate while watching the first Hercules episode. I watched a bunch of D’s shows with him, too. The one sort of miscue in my day was that I probably shouldn’t have taken the day off work without planning some activities to do then; I ended up feeling at loose ends for a few hours, when feeling productive would have been much nicer.

Now, as my dear friend abbzug suggests, I should embark on making this coming year the best yet!
