A busy, busy Friday
Oct. 15th, 2010 11:27 pmI submitted a funding inquiry today, hoping to be invited to do a full proposal, which would give me two years of work. I'll hear back from that in November. Also, next week I'll hear the outcome of my NIH grant review. Probably I should start planning the next application, though.
This afternoon I spent a gift certificate that
fractal9091 had gotten me when he was here. I bought four books! Howl's Moving Castle, the third and fourth of Pullman's Sally Lockheart books, and one by Ibbotson.
This evening was the department party, and I finally went. I got to have at least five long, great conversations! In particular, the imagination researchers (and the people who hang out with them) are such nice people.
D. got taken to a haunted corn maze but opted out after about 10 minutes; the rest of his friends stuck it out for the whole hour. I think he was still glad to go, though.
