Today really was lovely, weather-wise (clear and 68°), and very nice for all the graduates and their families. (I know, Commencement shouldn’t be on Monday; there had been a scheduling conflict with the NCAA track meet.) It was fun to eavesdrop on the various departmental ceremonies as I made my way around campus for my meeting with G. and library visit. I also got to watch the kids do a piñata at D's afterschool program, and then sat outside and read what I wanted from this month’s Atlantic Monthly.
I’ve now done enough iterations of my list of “theoretical propositions” underlying my dissertation, G. says, and can go back to planning the actual research. I’ll be glad to have a defined, finite project.
