New brain candy?
Jun. 12th, 2010 10:53 pmTo keep myself relatively un-wound-up while doing this grad school thing, I find I’m reading a lot of very fluffy novels. When I was doing the stats sequence, years ago, I read Xanth books, and lately I’ve descended back to about that level again. I confess that in the past few months I’ve actually read numerous trashy “romance novels,” interspersed with a few books of higher quality (Mary Stewart, Anya Seton, etc.).
Now, after watching SyFy’s Princess of Mars, which was rather fun (and about on par with my much cherished Yor, The Hunter from the Future), I realize there’s a whole gold mine out there – I could be filling my craving for fluff with Edgar Rice Burroughs novels. I could even read them online, though I do prefer actual books.
